Some Days...

Happy Tuesday!!

"  Some days you conquer the world.
         Some days you simply survive.
               Some days... they are the same thing!!!"

These words have been ringing in my head for a while now and even more so today as I had the privilege of hanging out with my dad in the chemo center. In the past few years I have seen a LOT of various hospital walls, amazing nurses, expert doctors... and so many hurting people!!!!

Today was no different.

There is something amazingly profound about watching the strength a person can have as they face adversity and trials in their life. Yes, we all crumble and collapse at times. But then other times there is a mighty hand that pulls us back up and we know that today we are gonna be ok.

And with each of these faces of the people I meet that are hurting or going through trials they never thought could possible come their way... I see that in their fight, in their simple day-to-day survival, they are on top of that mountain conquering the world!!! To some, getting through a rough day may not be that big of a deal, but to others it is everything!!

This print is one that I created for a dear, sweet, young friend of mine who is truly an inspiration as she fights her daily battle. But I just keep meeting others who might need this same encouragement so I wanted to share it with you all as well!!

Ode to a Box!

There was a box
upon my door.
I can not contain my glee.

A simple box
all square and neat.
Oh what could it be?

Inside that box
be still my heart.
What do mine eyes doth see...

Pretty, shiny, lovely things?
It doesn't matter really...

I just love to get a box
all packaged up for me!!!

And todays box brought me my newly printed business cards. Oh, I am soooo excited to finally be able to show these to you. There is a new line of Boutique Cards through my printer and I have been wanting to order a sample set to show off. What a better time than now to order new business cards!!!

my little toad...

Once upon a tUesday...
there sat a little toad. 

Not just a toad, all big & green
sitting off the open road... 

Oh No. You see this one was small,
as small as you or I. 

He sat upon an old grey hat
from where I do not know. 

He simply sat & leaned his head
from left to right & back. 

Counting cars, & old dead trees, 
cows & horses too.

But then he stopped his monotone 
& looked upon my shoe.

Slightly curious, it would seem, 
as to whom would walk this mile.

So I stopped & leaned my head 
& we stared for quite a while...

Clouds were passing, cars went by 
but still we held that glance.

He shifted weight, 
& turned his head...

"Thanks for the chat.." 
I softly said... 
...& turned to walk away...

For here my friend, I now had seen 
the simplicity of a day...

Not one to rush, or fall behind 
to hustle round the bend.

But with all the ease of a little toad 
will we see how to reach the end.

Do what we must with what we got 
But don't forget Today...

Ode to my Shoe...

I have been working on some really fun Christmas cards and I am super excited about showing them off. BUT I cant post anything till after Christmas so I dont spoil anything.. sooooo I will just post this instead.. he he...

and turned to my hat
who nodded, as a matter of fact

and then sat on my head
telling me there was just one thing to do

And that was to wish you

once upon a fall fall day there was a slight delay...
not sure why not sure how...
but in the midst of it all there was a stop...
to stand still & to sit, to not know or care which way was next...
almost at a crossraods...
but more of a delay...

for the day will continue as all days do...
but this time with more of a mission...
full of passion & life...

tOday...

Well here it is my new BLOG... yep time to pick it back up and get my artsy side back online... So without further ado here is a little something-something to get things back up & running.... ENJOY!!!

The day that no one forgot,
a day unlike any other
This day was not

It started out as most days do
through thick and thin
Clouded sky of blue

The hours flew by as a snail on speed
The minutes came next Truth indeed

Lunch did happen as well as dinner
Break and breakfast too

This day did happen, as some would have said
"A day without ending" the news had now read

Free coffee for breakfast but none left for tea
The muffins were excellent Oh do pardon me
We ate and we ate oh my is it late

But on to this day the no one forgot
Such one so unlike any other
Hmmmm… I might just go call my brother

No diamond rings on a finger or two
A letter forgot, as things tend to do
Packages missing, flowers all lost
I do hope the piano comes with no cost

Lessons we learnt on this uncommon day
We will find out come June, August, or May

The life of the party was left far behind
And we hit pay dirt; I'm loosing my mind

The wine was delicious, the grape juice all sour
I might keep this up another half hour

The car will not start…
I don't think I have one
And if I so did then where would I park one
The tasting of cheese is a rare lost old art

Onc can not find,
the grass green as dew
Or the sun right as rain
The day no one missed out
I sure won't complain

Shrubbery falls on the outskirts of town
I think I shall wear a blue, grayish, brown

The toast it may burn
Oh when is my turn
I have stood in this line
And where shall it move I surely know not
On this uncommon day that no one forgot

For if everyday were as normal as this
Oh what a boring life we would miss

No movies or pancakes, No toilets to clean
The clock says it's late, But what does that mean

The radio is playing a love minuet
Or maybe a sonnet…
Or a one person duet

O' I do hope there is nothing
