The Adorable Addison Renee!

Teeny-tiny fingers. Teeny-tiny toes!!! Oh my goodness, I had such a wonderful time getting to snuggle on a friends new little one for this photo shoot! So tiny and so perfect!!!

This little one was just so eager to enter the world that she decided to push the limits and come a whole month early (and she would have come even earlier if the Doctors had let her). Yet she was a fighter and was able to come home to her adoring family just a few days after her arrival! YAY for beautiful little miracle babies!!!

Thanks Hammer family for letting me come love on your littlest blessing! She is just perfect!

ENJOY!

Blessings... Times Two!

Certain dates will forever stand out in my mind. March 1st is now one of those dates. To anyone else it was just an uneventful Thursday... But for some of us it was a BIG DAY! Not only did I witness a true miracle in my own life but a very dear friend of mine welcomed her twin boys into the world. YAY! It was indeed an amazing day and one that I will never forget.

Last week I got to spend an afternoon taking some photos of these little guys (they finally got the OK to be off of oxygen so of course newborn photos were in order)  We had so much fun posing and moving and dressing these little ones... who slept the entire time!!!!!! Silly boys, we tried to wake them at the end to get some pretty open eye photos but no go.. those boys were napping for all it was worth.

I love taking newborn photos and it was so fun to have TWO little ones to capture. These boys just warm my heart and I am so excited to get to watch them grow up into wonderful little gentlemen. Welcome to the world boys and thanks for sharing your special day with me!

EJNOY!
Oh ya, and if you will remember a few months ago I designed a fun little Baby Shower Invite for a friend of mine having twin boys.... Yep one and the same, these precious boys are finally here!!!

To Witness a Miracle...

Last week I had a first. A phone call I had been dreading and anticipating for a while. It was time. The baby was on his way. The snow was falling, the roads were slick.. but I was headed out the door to the unknown. Little did I know I was about to witness a miracle...

A few weeks ago I was asked by a very dear friend (and fellow photographer) if I would be on call for this big day. Her sister was a few weeks away from the delivery of a miracle baby... one who had been given both ends of the spectrum on his chances of survival after he was born. They wanted me to be there when this little baby boy arrived to capture the unknown. I know my friend would have love to be there with her camera in hand loving and supporting her sister... but circumstances would not allow this. So she chose me to take her place.

Honored, Yes. Scared, Yes. Emotional.. YOU BET

The very thought of facing the unknown with our children is something every mother dreads. But the thought of not having those photographic memories of those first precious moments of life is something I knew I could help with... even through the tears.

Last Thursday the call finally came. I jumped in the car and headed downtown in the middle of a blizzard. Not at all sure what I was getting myself into.

BUT GOD IS GOOD!!!!!

Little Samuel arrived just minutes after I got to the hospital. I saw him for the first time as they wheeled him to the NICU. No tubes. No monitors. No lights and sirens. No running nurses... I thought for a second that they must have the wrong baby. He looked perfect! Even the Doctors have said that if they had not seen the scans before he was born they would think he was a perfectly normal little boy. WOW!

I am still in awe of this while situation and so blessed that I was there to capture Samuel's first hours here on earth. Against all odds this little life is a true miracle. A living, breathing, cute as a button miracle.

Here are just a few of the precious moments I was honored to share with Samuel and his family.

ENJOY!!!!
Welcome to the World little man. May you continue to be an inspiration and a miraculous blessing to all who meet you!!!

Baby Drew...

I love being an Auntie. I love my Niece. I love my Nephews. And the older my daughter gets the more she loves her Cousins. I am so glad that these little ones have the opportunity to grow up with each other and learn the precious love of family. The newest little one in this crazy rabble of cousins is Andrew Herman, named after our wonderful Grandpa Herman. Earlier this summer I had the opportunity to take some newborn photos of this little guy (you can see those here). I was then asked to use some of these photos to design a birth announcement for him. YAY! I love projects that I get to be a part of start to finish. And since today is Drew's 3 Month Birthday I thought it was fitting to share those with you now.

ENJOY, and I love you little nephew!!!!

The Legacy of a Name...

Two months ago today I got the call that my newest little nephew was here. YAY, I love being an auntie to my niece and now TWO nephews!!! His name, Andrew Herman. Yep, not the most common middle name a little one can get. But this name is more than just a name. My wonderful Grandfather was named Herman and he will forever be one of my greatest heros as well as a true inspiration in my life and in the lives of my family. Little Drew, I can not wait to get to know you as you grow up and I wish you many blessings as you follow in the footsteps of your namesake. LOVE you lots and lots!!!

Here are a few images from the super fun photo shoot we did recently for this little guy. ENJOY!
