Something New!!!

Something Old. Something New. Something Borrowed. Something Yellow!?!?!?!?!

Yes, that is right, did you notice? We have a new look! Many of you who know me personally know that I have a deep love of the color green. Which has been a part of my logo for a long time. BUT after 10, yes TEN, years this summer that I have been in business here at tÜsdé productions I thought it was high time I updated my look a bit.

Something Old:
Yes, my something old is the name of course. I may be changing my look but I am not changing my name. So here is a little history of my company name for my something Old. I LOVE to dance, and when I was first learning to dance the best night was Tuesday!! Then a few years later I was living and working in Germany and my day off was Tuesday. See a trend?? Tuesday quickly became one of my favorite days and when I was in design school this word served as the template for many a class project. The Ü and the é of course are throwbacks to the various languages I encountered during my two years spent in Europe.

Something New:
A new look is not complete without a new font group. Yes it is true I am a font nerd!!! I wanted a clean simple look for my business update and these fonts did the trick. Simple. Elegant. FUN!

Something Borrowed:
Ok, so not really borrowed but more of an image that holds many good memories in my life. This would be the little bird in my logo. I love birds, grew up with two little parakeets when I was a child and have always liked the image that the Lord takes care of the birds of the air, so how much more will He take care of me? It is an image of comfort and strength for me. This bird version is similar to the previous but with a little clean up and simplification.

Something YELLOW!
Ok, we are finally getting down to the root of the new look here. Yellow, and grey, and fun zig-zags.. oh my! As I was contemplating this new design look I thought back to the first few times I knew I wanted to be an artist. I have many fond memories of when I was a small child taking art classes at our local community center or with a dear artist friends of ours. The one project that stands out in my mind is a little yellow house I did with oil pastels. It was framed and hung up in a small art gallery for a while and as a child of 5 or 6 I thought this was SO AMAZING!! Yellow was my favorite color as a kid and it is with this new look that I am making a little nod back to where it all began. Plus it is a super fun, crisp, fresh, happy color!!!

So there you go. It has been an amazing 10 years with my little business. I am grateful for all the wonderful clients and friends I have made along the way and I can not wait to see what the next 10+ years will bring!!

ENJOY!!

Sometimes you just gotta Dance!!!

Does anyone out there know ONE of the many reasons why I named my business tÜsdé pRoductions? I know a few of you have asked at one point or another. Anyone?? Anyone have a guess??

Well, ONE of those reasons is simply because I LOVE Tuesdays!! I know most people love Fridays.. but me, I am more partial to Tuesdays. Why? Because I love to dance. (There are other reasons for my love of this day but this tops the list.) Yes, I know those two don't normally pair up together, but when I started dancing years ago Tuesday was, and still is, Dance Day!!!

I don't normally make New Years Resolutions, but this year I have a goal. To dance more! Yep, that is my goal for 2012.. to get back into the swing of things (literally) and dance! How fortunate for me then, that a few weeks ago I was asked to design an ad for Colorado Mountain College that was about dancing!!! This ad could not have had more perfect timing!! I love being able to join my two passions, Dance & Design into one super fun colorful project.

ENJOY... and don't forget that sometimes you just gotta Dance!

Ode to a Box!

There was a box
upon my door.
I can not contain my glee.

A simple box
all square and neat.
Oh what could it be?

Inside that box
be still my heart.
What do mine eyes doth see...

Pretty, shiny, lovely things?
It doesn't matter really...

I just love to get a box
all packaged up for me!!!
-

And todays box brought me my newly printed business cards. Oh, I am soooo excited to finally be able to show these to you. There is a new line of Boutique Cards through my printer and I have been wanting to order a sample set to show off. What a better time than now to order new business cards!!!

ENJOY, and let me know if you would like to see a list of all the new shapes and sizes now available!!!

Design Cafe...

What a crazy fun adventure I have to share with you today! I was asked by my wonderful client and Alma Mater Colorado Mountain College, to help present at a conference for other community colleges. I was one of 4 "artsy" professionals set up with computers for a demonstration and question/answer time during two of the sessions at the conference. I really had no idea what to expect as I waked in, but it was a great experience. I met people from colleges in Texas, Wyoming, Nebraska, New Mexico and Colorado. WOW, had I known that it was this big of a conference I might have been a little more nervous than I was. All in all, it was a wonderful afternoon of networking and sharing design secrets with others in the business. Thanks CMC for helping me feel very professional this afternoon!!!!!

OH, and yes, I designed the Posters and Table Tents for the event as well... Enjoy!!!!!!

tOday...

Well here it is my new BLOG... yep time to pick it back up and get my artsy side back online... So without further ado here is a little something-something to get things back up & running.... ENJOY!!!

The day that no one forgot,
a day unlike any other
This day was not

It started out as most days do
through thick and thin
Clouded sky of blue

The hours flew by as a snail on speed
The minutes came next Truth indeed

Lunch did happen as well as dinner
Break and breakfast too

This day did happen, as some would have said
"A day without ending" the news had now read

Free coffee for breakfast but none left for tea
The muffins were excellent Oh do pardon me
We ate and we ate oh my is it late

But on to this day the no one forgot
Such one so unlike any other
Hmmmm… I might just go call my brother

No diamond rings on a finger or two
A letter forgot, as things tend to do
Packages missing, flowers all lost
I do hope the piano comes with no cost

Lessons we learnt on this uncommon day
We will find out come June, August, or May

The life of the party was left far behind
And we hit pay dirt; I'm loosing my mind

The wine was delicious, the grape juice all sour
I might keep this up another half hour

The car will not start…
I don't think I have one
And if I so did then where would I park one
The tasting of cheese is a rare lost old art

Onc can not find,
the grass green as dew
Or the sun right as rain
The day no one missed out
I sure won't complain

Shrubbery falls on the outskirts of town
I think I shall wear a blue, grayish, brown

The toast it may burn
Oh when is my turn
I have stood in this line
And where shall it move I surely know not
On this uncommon day that no one forgot

For if everyday were as normal as this
Oh what a boring life we would miss

No movies or pancakes, No toilets to clean
The clock says it's late, But what does that mean

The radio is playing a love minuet
Or maybe a sonnet…
Or a one person duet

O' I do hope there is nothing
.....I soon
..........will
...............forget"
